about

I was once lucky enough to play a few shows with the great Sonny Condell - in my opinion one of the best songwriters ever to come out of Ireland. This song is homage bordering on plagiarism. I said this to Sonny once and suggested he listen to it, and if it was too close to something in his catalog, I'd be happy to go back to the drawing board.
"Nah" he shrugged. "I'm sure it's fine.". So be it. Thanks Mr. C.

lyrics

I believe I'm leaving here far from winter chill
You see me unfold my wings on your window sill
maybe take a photograph, then I'm gone
Singing my song for you
I'm leaving here for you
I will fly for you
I'm leaving here for you
I will fly

Rising high into the sky high above the ground
wind and rain against my wings the only sound
Rising high into the night until the air's gone
Still I sing my song for you
I'm leaving here for you
I will fly for you
I'm leaving here for you
I will fly

I flay among stars
I fly across the sun in the heather
I fly my way back to your window
I'm calling'
"It's me again - how've you been?"

I've flown among stars
I've flown across the sun in the heather
I've flown my way back to your window
I'm calling'

I've flown among stars
I've flown my way back to your window
I'm calling'
"It's me again - how've you been?"
