about

I wrote this one for some friends I toured with - I was touring with Cathie Ryan and Pat Mangan in Austria. The other band on the bill was Full Set. Michael and Janine, their fiddle and box player, were getting hitched so I wrote them a love song.
Cathie, Pat and I surprised them with a rendering of it on our last show of the tour. Sweet backing vocals from Cathie , and Pat hatched a swinging fiddle part.
There was much glee, and we burned the midnight oil waaaay into the winter night. Fun times.
This recording is a pre-production version- mostly acoustic and electric guitar- for the new cd - coming soon. The "video" is just footage of me working out guitar parts and such . Bergman it ain't. YouTube it is;

Hope you like it.

lyrics

On a long dark night on a cold and snowy road
he turned to his love and said "Love, here we go. I'm gonna spend my life with the only love I've known since I found you where the sunflowers grow."

She said " My love, you know I've always known that there's no one else I could ever call my own. We're gonna drive all night to the place that we both know; the place I found you where the sunflowers grow."

"they can keep their silver and keep all of their gold since I found you where the sunflowers grow."

In the morning sun in a field of yellow gold he took her in his arms and said "I'll never let you go". She said " My love , you know I've always known since I found you where the sunflowers grow."

"they can keep their silver and keep all of their gold since I found you where the sunflowers grow."
